As CEO of Signal Energy and AHV, Robert L. Tabb leads with a dual focus: scaling operational excellence and cultivating a resilient, people-first culture. His responsibilities include setting strategic vision, overseeing capital allocation, empowering leadership, and ensuring both companies are positioned to lead in the future of power infrastructure. Robert sees his role not only as a strategist and operator, but as a builder of systems, talent, and trust.
Robert began his career as a financial analyst at J. Richard Claywell, where he gained early experience in valuation and M&A. He then worked at MXenergy and later at Mattress Firm, where he sharpened his business acumen in FP&A and operations. His leadership trajectory accelerated at Orion Group, where as CFO and EVP he led a sweeping financial turnaround: reducing corporate debt by $94 million and building the operational scaffolding for long-term success.
Since joining Signal Energy in 2021 and becoming CEO in 2024, Robert has led a transformative effort that turned the business around, repositioning the company for sustainable growth, and embedding a culture of accountability and collaboration.
“My favorite part of the job is helping people unlock what they didn’t know they were capable of. Whether it’s guiding a first-time manager or supporting a tenured leader through change, nothing beats seeing our teams succeed together. I’m energized by transformation, and even more by the people who make it happen.”
Under Robert’s leadership, AHV and Signal are not just building infrastructure, they’re building a legacy. His vision includes:
