Safety

It is part of our DNA. At Signal Energy we aren’t just talking about safety, we are living safety. It is paramount to our business that we ensure everyone on our project sites, offices, and communities we work in are safer for having been involved with us. It is so important that one of our core principles is to leave things better off than we found them. We prosper people and resources.

So how do we do that? We focus on team building to create and maintain a positive safety culture. It creates a place where safety, quality, and productivity are not conflicting goals but are recognized as integral components of a successful project.

To keep safety in the forefront of everybody’s mindset, we have created the Good Catch program. Signal was looking for a solution to aid our efforts in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by engaging the people that live it every day. We wanted to promote the ability of everybody out on site and in our offices to recognize and eliminate the potential for a hazardous situation. After all, it is only through communal diligence that we can create an amazingly safe workplace. But such a program had to go beyond just getting people to be active in safety, we wanted to recognize those efforts.

Recognize, Remove, Report. Recognize is obvious; see it, point it out, and keep everybody safe. Remove is not only changing the behavior or situation but also keeping a record for best practices. Report is the home run for this program. Once a Good Catch has been made the structure is in place to get the recognition for what has happened.

Signal Energy is committed to executing our work safely and it is at the heart of what we do. Our Safety team, consisting of HSE credentialed professionals and our project teams, are intimately involved in the collaborated planning and execution of each project. Through this planning we identify our risks and the mitigation efforts required to ensure our people can execute their work safely. We measure ourselves against our plan and harness that creative energy to continuously improve in our journey towards World-Class performance. It is through these things that we will always live out our commitment to safety at our sites, offices, and communities we work in.

“Living safety, walking the talk, and making the commitment is at the heart of what we do. Safety is not a priority for us because priorities change over time and our commitment to the health and well-being of our people does not change, it is pervasive. There is no ambition, work task, or initiative that will be pursued without safety as the foundation of those pursuits.” - Mike Christy, CEO
